Smoking bans in all enclosed workplaces, restaurants, public buildings and public transport need to be complete if they are to protect workers and non-smokers and help smokers to quit, said Parliament on Thursday. MEPs called on EU Member States to continue introducing rules to protect non-smoking workers and step up other efforts to protect non-smokers, in a resolution adopted by 520 to 53, with 45 abstentions. A new residential rental building on the Upper East Side is joining a growing trend in the city by going smoke free. NY1′s Shazia Khan filed the following report. A breath of fresh air. That’s what one developer is offering New Yorkers at 1510 Lexington Avenue. The new luxury rental high-rise is the first residential building in the city to ban smoking in all its units as well as its public spaces.
